Staff at Checkprint, a member of the TALL Group of Companies, welcomed a group of students from Leicester Business School, De Montfort University, who spent the morning at Checkprint’s Hinckley site last week.
The visit provided an the opportunity for the students to discuss with senior management the issues that arise when running a business, and the strategic impact of future plans. From this the students, who are acting as ‘management consultants’, are set tasks by the company and will report back to them in a presentation to be given at De Monfort University.
Commenting on the visit, Bev Dinsey, Module Leader at Leicester Business School said: “This type of assignment gives the students the opportunity to experience at first hand the way that theory and real life come together in the resolution of business issues, and hopefully it will give them a better understanding of how business is run.
The University is grateful to the company and in particular to Martin Ruda and Lee Howitt who give up their valuable time to help the managers of the future and treat this exercise in a serious manner.
I hope that this collaboration will continue into the future and that in some way the findings of these students may be of benefit to Checkprint and the TALL Group.”
